Session Part 1
Movement in the Virtual Choral Rehearsal
Presenter
Casey Goryeb
Synopsis
As we look to approach our virtual Choral rehearsals in a more process and skills-based manner, an excellent way to increase student engagement is through movement. In this workshop, Casey will guide you through a series of movements that can align directly with your vocal warm-ups and can be applied in both a virtual and in-person setting.
Session Part 2
Singer-Centered Virtual Rehearsals
Presenter
Kahlil Gunther
Synopsis
Through this session, participants will explore practical techniques for conducting effective virtual rehearsals that focus on the individual singer’s experience. In a format that is inherently disconnected, it is critical that rehearsals are safe and engaging in addition to being workable and efficient. Creative applications of technology can foster rehearsals that will allow singers to make progress on repertoire while feeling vocally and personally connected to the process.
Session Part 3
Zooming Out: Examining the WHY of Virtual Rehearsals
Presenter
Joseph Zachowski
Synopsis
As we transition our vibrant in-person offerings to hybrid and remote environments, we are simultaneously grappling with the continued loss of live performances for our students. How do we maintain a sense of community, excitement, and motivation in our programs without these culminating experiences? This portion of the webinar will focus on the myriad benefits of virtual rehearsals, including SEL, program culture, and student leadership.
