Dear All State Mixed Chorus Member,

Welcome back to the school year! This e-mail will contain information concerning our next rehearsal, as well as additional information for your time in the All-State Chorus.

The next All-State Mixed Chorus rehearsal will be this Saturday, September 21st – Details below:

Saturday, September 21st
8:30 am – 12:00 noon
Piscataway High School
100 Behmer Rd, Piscataway, NJ 08854

Arrive at 8:00 AM so that check-in will move smoothly and quickly. You will then move into the auditorium and receive instructions on where to sit. Rehearsal begins promptly at 8:30 AM.

If you are late, it will count as an absence, so allow extra time for travel. You must also sign out in order for the rehearsal to count.

Near the conclusion of rehearsal, parents-guardians should be at Piscataway High School by 11:45 AM to pick you up. Rehearsal will end by 12:00 noon.


We have decided to not test at the September 21st rehearsal, however, please prepare your music in order to have a successful rehearsal.

Bring a pencil and water to every rehearsal!

Required item for Rehearsal #1

  1. Medical Form: (overdue)

Fill out the Medical Form on your computer, print it out, and bring it to the first rehearsal. It needs to be signed by a parent. The Medical form can be found at https://njmea.org/all-state/mixed-chorus/ at the bottom of the page.

Rules Agreement Form – Due October 26th

Rules Agreement Form. You must sign and turn in this document in order to participate in All-State. Failure to abide by the rules will result in dismissal from the ensemble. Your Choral Director needs to sign this form as well so make sure to give them ample time to complete. Housing and Participation Fees

All payments were due on August 1, 2019.
Unpaid students will be dropped from their ensembles on September 15, 2019.

Please double check all dates and times! They are the same dates you agreed upon in your audition application. Students are expected to attend each scheduled rehearsal for its entire duration. Permission will not be given to come late or leave early. You are allowed one (1) absence. If you feel that you will be unable to attend all rehearsals and the performance weekend in its entirety, please do not accept a place in this ensemble.

You may not miss any part of any rehearsal held during the performance weekend.

The participation and housing fees must be paid directly to the NJMEA Office, either by credit card, check, or PO by August 1, 2019. If the fees are not paid by September 15, 2019 you will not be able to participate in NJ All-State Chorus. Also, there will be no refunds after September 15, 2019.

You are allowed one absence. An absence is defined as missing a rehearsal or any part thereof; therefore you are not allowed to be late or to leave early. After the second absence, you will no longer be a member of the ensemble, nor will you be eligible to audition for All-State Chorus in the future. You must perform at both concerts in order to receive your all-state pin and to maintain eligibility for the following year.
