Dear All State Treble Chorus Member,

Congratulations on your acceptance into the 2019 NJMEA All-State Mixed Chorus! It is our privilege to welcome you to this prestigious ensemble. This email will contain vital information that will enable you to have a successful All-State Chorus experience–please read in its entirety!

The first All-State Treble Chorus rehearsal will be Saturday, September 21
Details below:

Saturday, September 21, 2019: Piscataway High School 

8:30 to 12:00 Noon

Arrive at 8:00 AM so that check-in will move smoothly and quickly. You will then receive instructions on where to sit. Rehearsal begins promptly at 8:30 AM. 

If you are late, it may count as an absence, so allow extra time for travel. You must also sign out in order for the rehearsal to count.

Near the conclusion of rehearsal, parents/guardians should be at Piscataway High School by 11:30am to pick you up. Rehearsal will end by Noon. 

Bring a PENCIL and WATER to every rehearsal!

Medical Form:

Fill out the Medical Form on your computer, print it out, and bring it to the first rehearsal. It needs to be signed by a parent. The Medical form can be found at at the bottom of the page. You will not receive your music until you have turned in your medical form!

Rules Agreement Form – Due October 26th

Rules Agreement Form. You MUST sign and turn in this document in order to participate in All-State. Failure to abide by the rules will result in dismissal from the ensemble. (Note – Your Choral Director needs to sign this form as well so make sure to give them ample time to complete) The rules agreement form is available here and is due at our rehearsal on October 26th:

Housing and Participation Fees

Deadline for all payments was August 1, 2019. Students not paying by this deadline may not attend rehearsals until paid in full, and will incur penalties for these absences as per the ensemble’s attendance policy. Unpaid students will be dropped from their ensembles on September 15, 2019.

PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK ALL DATES AND TIMES! They are the same dates you agreed upon in your audition application. Students are expected to attend each scheduled rehearsal for its entire duration. Permission will not be given to come late or leave early. You are allowed ONE absence. If you feel that you will be unable to attend all rehearsals and the performance weekend in its entirety, please DO NOT accept a place in this ensemble!

The participation and housing fees must be paid directly to the NJMEA Office, either by credit card, check, or PO by August 1, 2019. If the fee is not paid, you may not attend the September rehearsal until it is paid, and this will count as your one and only absence. If the fees are not paid by September 15, 2019 you will not be able to participate in NJ All-State Chorus. Also, there will be no refunds after September 15, 2019.

You are allowed ONE absence. An absence is defined as missing a rehearsal OR ANY PART THEREOF; therefore you are not allowed to be late or to leave early. After the second absence, you will no longer be a member of the ensemble, nor will you be eligible to audition for All-State Chorus in the future. You must perform at BOTH CONCERTS in order to receive your all-state pin and to maintain eligibility for the following year.
