The NJSMA tenth annual Elementary Honors Band Festival is an event that provides fifth and sixth grade students the opportunity to participate in a region ensemble. The ensembles will rehearse during the morning, receive a sectional with a specialist in their instrument, and perform in an afternoon concert. All students are sponsored by through nomination, not by audition, by their sponsoring school band director, who must be present throughout the day of the festival. Sponsoring directors must have a current NAfME membership, and will receive Professional Development hours for their participation.
